Coheed & Cambria // Cardiff
Our main purpose for this trip was to go and see Coheed and Cambria, a band James introduced Jess to when they were 16. We've been a huge fan of them ever since and have seen them all over the place, including a trip to Barcelona!

It is one of Jess's missions to get a setlist for every band she sees live, and this time she was successful! James uses his height advantage to try and catch drumsticks, and we keep these in a vase like flowers.
As well as seeing one of our favourite bands, we also met up with Jess's dad and step mum (Jan) who were also down in Cardiff that weekend seeing another band. They showed us around the city centre and the market and we laughed and joked about how popular wolf fleeces have become. Dad said they now have a dedicated Facebook group, The Wolf Fleece Appreciation Society.

We had a really lovely weekend, and it was great to explore a new city with them. When we visited the castle, we bumped into some of the members of Coheed and Cambria. Jan said she would have fan-girled, and Jess did, but we tried to keep it cool. James said "hi" and we shook their hand and said we were looking forward to the gig.
Nearby, we stopped to get welsh cakes. Neither of us had tried them before and the buttery smell meant we couldn't resist. Are they basically griddled scones? We bought a couple of different flavours but the white chocolate ones were probably our favourite and Jess has thought about them plenty since. We didn't take a photo of the actual welsh cake but here's the place that we got them - to remember for next time!
