Yorkshire Spa Retreat
We took a Friday off work and headed for a night in The Hideaway at Yorkshire Spa Retreat – a nice excuse for a slow weekend away without going too far! Our lodge had spa access through a gate in our garden, which made the whole stay feel extra special. The weather was unusually good for this time of year, so we spent the majority of the afternoon sitting out in the sun and relaxing, inevitably getting a bit sunburnt. In the evening, we made the most of it at the restaurant terrace with pizza and 2-4-1 cocktails before heading back to toast marshmallows over the fire pit.

The following morning, we stopped off at Hovingham and set off on a 5 mile walk through the countryside. The fields were full of bright yellow rapeseed and we saw lambs playing in the fields. With the sun shining again, it very much felt like spring had properly arrived. Hovingham is a gorgeous little village too, with a lovely bakery which made for a great post-walk treat!
